Seller guide
Create a listing
How to choose the rights to sell and set the terms.
Create a listing
In Sell IP, choose the types of rights to sell and write a title, description, and notes. Set one set of terms for each right you choose; within the same right, you can split terms by price per period, appearance type, and add-on options. If you want to sell with other terms that differ, please create a separate listing.
Setting terms
- Price per usage period — choose which of 1, 3, 6, or 12 months to sell and set the price.
- Usage region — Korea only or global.
- Exclusivity — non-exclusive / category exclusive / fully exclusive. The more exclusive, the higher the price you can charge.
- Allowed modifications and prohibited industries — block unwanted uses in advance.
Pricing types
Choose from fixed price, sales royalty, or fixed price + sales royalty. If you choose a royalty type, set the royalty rate and a payment day (the Nth of each month) — the buyer reports the previous month's sales and pays the royalty by that date every month. Appearance rights support only a fixed price per appearance and base duration. An extra fee for using footage is added if selected. For travel and lodging (on-site), choose between included in the base price or negotiated separately. For extensions, choose not available, time and cost negotiated separately, or a set extra fee (amount per N minutes); extension costs aren't included in the base payment.
Things to consider when actually selling
Many details can't be fully captured by the terms on a listing and need more specific discussion for each right. Setting your standards before selling makes negotiations much faster.
- Name/brand — which forms (Korean, English, logo) to allow, limits on use such as products and ad creatives, and whether to block trademark filing or business-name registration.
- Photo usage rights — which shots to provide, how far retouching and cropping are allowed, and whether to block compositing and AI training.
- Video usage rights — the range of source footage allowed, and whether edits that distort what was said or re-uploads to other platforms are allowed.
- Voice usage rights — depending on the agreed method (file use, new recording, or buyer AI generation), confirm the target voice, script, and length, plus production terms or the generation method, period, and service costs.
- Co-branding — brand elements and copy to show together, price per campaign, number of campaigns the buyer chooses, where it's used and per-use add-on fees, draft approval before release, and handling of posts after the end. The actual partner brand, campaign, and drafts are recorded in the additional agreements. Name and logo use within the same scope is included; product planning, production, and sales, or the seller's own posts and appearances, are separate.
- Merchandise — allow for-sale and free-distribution uses separately or together. Set the items, elements used, total production quantity, sales and distribution channels, draft and sample approval, additional production, and stock handling after the term. Units sold, giveaways, and samples count toward the total, and non-sale-only uses are priced without a sales royalty.
- Appearance — you can register on-site, online video, and online voice options together in one listing. For each, set the activity, base duration per appearance, price, extension terms, scope of recording use, and schedule change and cancellation terms; the buyer chooses one. Visit region and travel/lodging are set only for on-site. Video means joining live as yourself or an avatar, and voice means joining live with your voice only. The actual schedule and how to join are recorded in the additional agreements.
